But it’s annoying.
Enter—my personal trainer. He’s fit and hunky and he worked me hard last night. Well, it felt hard, although he claims it was the first step on the beginner level and we wouldn’t push it. He also told me to expect to ‘feel it’ a bit today. You can imagine that my writerly imagination went to work on that.
While he and I were hip thrusting and planking, squatting and lunging, and images of those split shots of Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor separately exercising in Down with Love played through my mind and Adam Lambert sang “Down the Rabbit Hole” from Alice in Wonderland, I played with scenes and snatches of dialogue for another story in my mind (occasionally swearing at the same time to bring down the wrath of all the gods on the too upbeat head of my coach).
But you know what—I survived. And while I ‘feel it’ just a little bit today, I’m positive and grateful for my PT’s gentle enthusiasm and willingness to do this with me. I’m not paying him btw. At least, not in cash. And while you lift your thoughts back onto the footpath (!) aren’t fit hubbies just the best? Thanks, darling.
How does your partner/BF show their love? After all, it’s in actions that we reveal ourselves. I’d love to hear from you.
