THE 19TH HOLE My greatest achievement on the golf course was winning the Bradman Award. Bradman? I hear you ask. On a golf course? Well, yes, I had the highest score for air swings and I doubt my poor partners counted all of them in the end. Of course, I also came away with a chook as my prize so I think I did fairly well for a novice player. My strength lies in knowing the best approach to the nineteenth hole. I line up my run and negotiate hazards with a degree of skill and speed rarely seen outside Formula One racing. I like nothing better than cocktails at 6 pm on the balcony/veranda/deck (wherever I happen to be!) and kicking back and enjoying the view. So it was with great pleasure that I researched golfing cocktails for this post. You wouldn’t believe how many I tried before settling on this one! Whatever your tally, this drink will definitely ease your way home. Derosier's 19th hole Cocktail Pour the rum, bourbon, creme de cacao, Drambuie, and coffee into an Irish coffe glass. Pour the cream carefully over the back of a teaspoon so that it floats on top of the drink. Ingredients:

Fabulous post Susanne. I'm glad I'm not the only person who can't seem to play golf the 'proper' way. Thank goodness for the 19th hole. My one and only game was made worthwhile by the cocktails on the deck. :-)

I love this Susanne! Do you know the one and only 'chook raffle' I've ever won in my life happened in a golf club. Would you believe, they spun the wheel twice, and both times, my number came up! 2 chooks in one!

It will be my pleasure, Lily. Of course, I may need to 'practise' more, just to quality assure the end product! Thanks for hosting; this is fun.

Since my golf skills are as bad as my cooking skills, I'll join you at the 19th hole for that yummy cocktail, thanks :)

Can I just have champagne? Which will, of course, leave all the cocktail shakers free for the rest of you gals :)

Jennie, Just ask the barman to leave the bottle between you and Lily. Unless you want to watch him flex his muscles as he pours?

Hmmm yes, there is a proper way to play golf. Its certainly not the way I try when I attempt the game. It is generally nicely scenic though.

Kay, so long as you can find your way to the 19th hole, the scenic route has much to recommend it.

I normally drink a white wine. The closest I get to a cocktail is mixing lemonade with red cordial. Can I still join you on the 19th hole?
