My blog was nominated for the LIEBSTER AWARD. Thank you, Devika Fernando – amazingly talented author of romance in various genres, supportive friend, and incredibly active blogger! Here’s her post, do check it out.
The Rules
- Post the award on your blog.
- Thank the blogger who gave you this award and link back to their blog.
- Answer the 11 questions given by your presenter.
- Nominate 11 bloggers who you feel deserve this award.
- Think of 11 questions for the nominees.
1. If you could choose any job in the world, what would you want to do for a living?
I love what I'm doing now, but if I could choose anything else, I would love to be an archaeologist. Or lead dancer/singer in hit musicals.
2. Is there a book you wish you had written?
Margaret Atwood's 'The Handmaid's Tale'. She is brilliant, and her observations of society are pointed and fascinating. This story has been reinterpreted into a ballet, an opera, and a series, and next year will see another ten part series made from a story that seems to polarise readers.
3. If you had to choose a spirit animal, which would it be?
A dolphin – I have an affinity with the sea, and dolphins are wonderful guides and protectors.
4. Have you traveled anywhere you immediately fell in love with?
I distinctly recall standing on the footpath in the centre of Paris and feeling like all my Christmases had come at once. Then there was the feeling of coming home when we stopped at Loch Lomond in Scotland... (Yes, Outlander is my kind of time travel!)
5. What are your favourite books?
Historical novels which incorporate great research into a fabulous story.
6. What’s your biggest strength?
My husband's support and belief in me.
7. What are you scared of?
Sharks! And crocodiles. They are such prehistoric, savage creatures that are incredible survivors but scare the heck out of me. Recently, I really struggled to critique my writing partner's scene in which huge White Pointer sharks were circling a downed helicopter.
8. If you could resurrect one dead person, who would you bring back to life?
I wouldn't, or perhaps that is couldn't do it.
9. How would you describe me?
Caring, sharing, and a wonderful friend.
10. Complete the following sentence:
Reading means… escaping into other worlds, other lives.
11. How do you spend your weekends?
With my husband and family. Unless I have to meet tight writing deadlines which means writing 7 days a week for a period of time, we do ordinary things around the house and garden, or visit family a couple of hours away. I have just become a grandma for the first time, so baby cuddles with my new granddaughter are top of 'my favourite things'.
